Community Lodgings appreciates all donations from our generous supporters who provide needed items for the families we serve. In order to make the best use of our limited storage space and to ensure that families have access to the most urgently needed items, we have created the in-kind donation guidelines detailed below. If you have recently donated, please click (HERE) to fill out our donation form for our records and a receipt will be sent to you upon request.
Donation Guidelines
Community Lodgings will only accept non-asset donations that fit in one of the following categories:
- The item can supplement Community Lodgings’ current office supply, cleaning supply or program supply needs.
- The item can be used by an active or planned program at Community Lodgings.
- The item is listed on Community Lodgings’ Amazon Wishlist
If you would like to donate an item that is NOT on our Amazon Wish List, please contact donations@community-lodgings.org to request donation drop-offs or pick-ups. The donation must be approved before we are able to accept it.
In an ongoing effort to best utilize your gifts, we are UNABLE to accept the following:
- Used plush furniture or bedding (i.e. mattresses, couches, pillows, etc.)
- (Typically) Donations that need to be picked up outside of a 25 mile radius from our administrative office: 3912 Elbert Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305
- Used clothing
- Used plastic kitchenware (cups, plates, bowls, utensils, etc.)

Donation Drop-Offs
Community Lodgings will accept approved in-kind donation items Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 3912 Elbert Ave. Suite #108, Alexandria, VA 22305. Donors must contact us in advance via email or donation form to make arrangements.
Donation Pick-Ups
Community Lodgings will pick up donations Monday-Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please contact donations@community-lodgings.org to request donation pick-ups.
