Ambassador Reflections

Ambassador Reflections: My Life in Transitional Housing, by Precious R.

Entering and completing the Transitional Housing Program with Community Lodgings had a tremendous impact on my life. I entered this program not knowing what career I wanted to pursue in life, or where my job would take me. Today I stand as a teacher who is making a difference in many people’s lives.

Community Lodgings also allowed me to have a stable place to live for about two years. I have learned to communicate better through counseling, to manage my resources through budgeting classes and take better care of my children thanks to the parenting classes that I received. In this program, I had the opportunity to meet with caring staff members, to set up good goals, and to work towards self-sufficiency.

There were sweet surprises, too: I was able to celebrate many wonderful holidays with my family because of Community Lodgings. I also stand today as the owner of a blue Toyota Corolla that was donated to me by Community lodgings. This is the first car I have ever owned, and I will be forever grateful for such a blessing.

I am thankful to all who have contributed to making our journey a successful one and to Community Lodgings for giving me another chance. The work they do is so important, and we were so lucky to be here.
