Spring2ACTion was a Success!

We Exceeded Our Goal

We are excited to announce that Spring2ACTion was a success this year, on April 27th, as we exceeded our $50,000 fundraising goal and raised over $59,000!

Spring2ACTion is Alexandria’s 24-hour online giving day, presented by ACT for Alexandria. This event, celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, provides a simple way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and encourages them to take action.

Spring2ACTion 2022 Highlights

Topper’s Pizza in Del Ray supported us for Spring2ACTion by donating 30% of their proceeds from sales on April 27th.

We went live on Facebook for Spring2ACTion Power Hour from 3:00pm-4:00pm from the Fifer Learning Center. We spent an hour having a Q&A session with the students and staff during programming.

We hosted a meet and greet at Piece Out Del Ray from 5:00pm – 6:15 where 10% of all proceeds during that hour were donated to Community Lodgings.

Our Executive Director, Lynn Thomas, hosted a Spring2ACTion happy hour challenge at Tiki Bar Del Ray from 6:30pm-7:30pm. 10% of all proceeds from sales were donated to Community Lodgings.

Thanks To Our Community Of Supporters

This year, we encouraged our community of supporters to donate to our various programs including our Affordable Housing, Transitional Housing, and Youth Education Programs. We were fortunate to partner with some amazing sponsors who helped us reach our goal. Special thanks to:

  • ACT for Alexandria
  • Immanuel Church On-The-Hill
  • Lynn Thomas
  • MacRae Family Foundation Fund
  • Mason Hirst Foundation
  • Open Horizon Foundation
  • Piece Out Del Ray
  • Rita Susswein Gottesman Fund
  • Tiki Bar Del Ray
  • Toppers Pizza Del Ray

Thanks to the all of our Spring2ACTion donors and supporters, we raised enough funds to fill bags of groceries for disadvantaged families, support our Summer Enrichment Program, support families leaving homelessness in our Transitional Housing Program, and help send high school students on college tours in their efforts to pursue higher education. The support we receive from Spring2ACTion ultimately helps us mobilize our efforts to lift families out of homelessness and instability into independence and self-sufficiency.

Spring2ACTion 2021 Impact

Thank you to everyone who supported Spring2ACTion in 2021! Take a look at how last year’s support made an impact on the families we serve.
