Joshua’s Success Story

Blonde caucasian middle school aged boy with glasses wearing a soccer jersey, smiling at the cameraAt Community Lodgings, we are always inspired by the resilience and adaptability of our students as they navigate important transitions in their academic journeys.

Recently, we spoke with Joshua, who shared his candid thoughts on moving into middle school and the challenges and surprises he has encountered along the way.

“Middle school is not boring. You have to transition fast and you get to see your friends for a bit,” Joshua explained. “The classes are fast, and you feel like the end of the day comes quickly. I like AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) because it helps me get prepared for the other grades. I kind of like mathematics. The teacher says funny things and he is nice. I didn’t expect to have to change so fast in P.E. I didn’t expect my classes to get harder.”

Joshua’s reflections remind us that middle school is not just a new academic challenge, but a period of personal growth and transition. We are incredibly proud of Joshua, as well as his positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Our resilient and tenacious students inspire us daily with their fortitude in challenging situations.

Keep up the great work, Joshua! You are doing well.
