February News

Our mentoring programs are a critical part of our Youth Education Program and we love sharing what the groups are up to.

The Boys’ Mentoring group took a trip to Arlington National Cemetery as part of their workshop where they discussed heroes. The group has been discussing what it means to be a hero and sharing their thoughts on their personal heroes.

The Spitfire Book Club meets every Friday at Brookside. Special thanks to our amazing community partner Amanda Hazlewood. Amanda leads a group of eight 3rd and 4th grade girls every week. The girls read interesting books and learn to become leaders through interactive activities.

Are you interested in volunteering as a mentor? Please contact Keaira Kittrell at kkittrell@community-lodgings.org or call 703-549-4407 for more information.
